How Many Rotten Lemons Have You Thrown Out in Your Lifetime?

Too many to count, right? And just when you decide to actually make something for dinner, you reach for the key ingredient-lemon- and you have NONE.

Top 10 Reasons You Need True Lemon, True Lime and True Orange in your Kitchen, on your Person and at your Desk!

1. It's great to use anywhere you'd use real lemon, lime or oranges--yep, they have a newly released True Orange!

2. It's perfect for the kitchen or on-the go--just open a packet! No mess, waste and inconvenience associated with fresh fruit--who has a fresh lemon in their purse for their water?!

3. These contain 0 calorie, 0g carbohydrate and 0g of sugar

4. No artificial sweeteners

5. No preservatives or sodium

6. They contain 25% of an adult's daily Vitamin C requirements!

7. Great way to stay hydrated! It's tough for some to drink as much water as they should. With True Lemon, True Lime or True Orange, it makes it easy to drink up! Great taste and zero calories!

8. I'm here to tell you! I used the True Lemon it in my water, homemade guacamole and on salmon--and it tasted GREAT in all three!

9. You can get FREE samples and COUPONS on their website: www.truelemon.com

10. You can't beat the cost. One box of True Lemon is the equivalent of 12 lemons....the difference? True Lemon retails for 2.99 a box and has a 2 year shelf life. Fresh lemons today in my store were 1.29 each!!! 15.48 for a dozen! You do the math.

Who Could Resist This Concoction?

One of my fondest childhood food memories is this:
A 70's sunflower yellow, bigger than life, plastic Tupperware bowl filled with my Mother's homemade trail mix.

The mix consisted of raisins, m and m's and dry roasted peanuts (with salt). She would whip up a batch anytime she had out of town company or really, whenever the mood struck her. Ask many Peorians about this mix and they will recall it with fond memories. I recently made a batch for a long road trip with my husband. This bag was gone in less than 2 days.

Ingredients:
Raisins
M and M's (plain)
Dry Roasted Peanuts (it's critical to get the salted, dry roasted peanuts for just the right combination of salty, sweet and sweet)

Mix equal amounts and enjoy!

The Onion brings me to tears today....

I just had to share this.

http://www.theonion.com/content/video/new_wearable_feedbags_let

Little did I know that it came from The Onion, the tongue in cheek news media source that makes the news of today just a bit more palatable. The Onion was first brought to my attention by my former Chicagoan cousin, Adam-many years ago. He was always ahead of his time--listening to bands like Toad the Wet Sprocket before anyone else.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this clip. Thanks to Jennifer Neily, MS, RD, LD for sending it my way.
